A New Year Includes New Challenges and I've Signed Up For The First of The Year
You can join Coffee Times Challenge to grow your email list and win $100
Good morning,
It’s been a while since we’ve met and I apologize for the delay. The last semester became demanding and I had to put in my effort to study for the finals project. I did pretty well for the end shebang. I got a C+ and now looking forward to starting the next semester on January 24 for the History of Photography and the Language of Photography. These two seem to be interesting courses, especially the former since I have always loved history.
As the new year has rolled around I have made a few new years resolutions. You can read them here and here. They’re mostly about my career and self-care and I hope to tend to them closely as most of us usually give up on our new year’s resolution after the first few weeks of the year. I’m joking. I think I will do better this year.
Well, as part of the new year with new projects I also signed up for the Coffee Times Writer’s Challenge to help me build my email list. I’ve been wanting to grow my audience on Medium and take it with me on Substack since the end of last year and that will take some work, so this challenge has come at a good time. I might not earn 100 subscribers but maybe 50 would be fine. It will be a step in the right direction for my writing as someday in the year, hopefully, I can start writing a book and sharing the progress with you here on my email list first.
You will get the exclusive details as part of being on my email list and being a part of my journey. I will be so excited to share and grow with you. These are all just thoughts in progress for the future and I’m glad that you can be a part of it. Now for details about the contest, which is the exciting part of this email.
I received the first email yesterday from the editor of Coffee Times, Winston that the challenge started yesterday. The rules say we need to send in our stories by the 28th of January with the topic of why is writing important to you. I already submit my story to the editor, Winston, so he could add it to their Stories column on their Coffee Times Newsletter. Writers will be provided a summary of the list of participants on the 30th of January and our contest story on Substack must receive at least 100 likes by 10 February 2359h (UTC) to qualify you for phase 3. When it's time I will share my story with you here and on social media so hopefully we can raise likes so I could have a starting chance at winning the competition. It will be an exciting experience and hopefully, I will find new writers that I like to read to follow along. I’ve already made great friends on Medium who read and support each other’s work online, which is always encouraging.
If you haven’t already, take a look at some of my latest articles here, here and here.
I appreciate you. Thanks for reading.
Sincerely,
Rosa de Saron C.
That sounds like a crazy challenge! I just challenged myself to do something creative everyday. But since we’ve been house hunting this last weekend, that’s gone down the pooper. Lol I’ll get back to it, I’m sure. I just need to DO IT. I wish you luck on your challenge!
