If you know anything about me, you know that I grew up loving French art and culture. I even wrote an article right here explaining why I committed myself to learning the Language of Love as my third language.
I don’t know why but ever since I was a little girl La France has attracted my heart and I gravitated to its culture. I love to listen to these old songs because it takes me back to a time when people were more cultured and well-mannered. I feel fancier and enjoy soaking up the lyrics as I take in new vocabulary. I have to admit that some of these songs are a little aged but I do enjoy most of them as they have a nice sound that makes my ears happy.
My Facebook friends probably wonder why I share so many of these songs on my wall. I’m sorry to those who see these updates one after the other on their feeds late at night but I have to admit that I have good taste and they would thank me for the sounds. I’m partly joking but I enjoy finding art in places that people usually overlook and I believe that most of these songs are worth digging up out of the past to grace our ears for a while.
I really enjoy #1, #8 #11, #12, #15 and #17 to name a few. You might hear the singers crying in their voices as they translate passion and pain through lyrics of love. They truly are works of art and I feel that these songs embellish any atmosphere with class as soon as you turn them on.
I find that I can relate to the passion in their voices because they believe in the stories they are telling. They move the audience to feel something and change their perspective for a few minutes even if they themselves do not agree with the message. It’s truly inspiring to soak in art from another time to make you think of the history behind these songs and how far music has come since then.
