As I sit here, looking at this saying across from my chair in my room, I see the word "Love" with what looks like a crown of thorns from far away. And when we think of "love" we think of romance or what feels good for a moment and move on to the next one. But when Jesus loved us he didn't feel good. He took those nails in his hands and the thorns on his forehead and didn't say, "Boy, does that feel refreshing!" No, but he loved us anyway despite the agony. He died at the cross to forgive is of our sins and to give us eternal life if we so accept it.Â
So as I sit far away I see a crown of thorns but as I move up close I see a flower crown. I see the cross, a symbol of love. Then hope, resurrection fullness and completeness because Jesus is alive! He took my thorns and crowned me with flowers instead.Â
Oh how he loves us.Â
