Preparing for class, healing and finding family
Food for thought
A few weeks ago, dad came up with an anecdote that was really funny. He said, “If people's brain was an App maybe they'd use it more.” Could it be true? We see people on the road drive like maniacs and people cut each other off in lines at the store. Why are people so in a rush anyway, we are in Florida. Slow down! 😂😂😂
I had a moment this week, when we were driving around town that I got out of the car and didn't notice the truck's rear view mirror next to me and lightly bumped my head. My dad said that would arrange the neurons in my brain. I never laughed so hard. Maybe my app was disconnected.
Wednesday
School starts in less than a week and I had so many documents to sign. I did some orientations online and I have my final one on the 31st before I start my first class on September 2nd. I'm so excited.
After running some errands we went to a pastor friend's house and we're surprised with a free lunch and some advice for healing about mom. I was introduced to the condominium theory-- We all have levels or floors that represent our age and we can visit those floors anytime we want to in life but the devil doesn't want us to visit those floors without the Lord because he wants us to feel torment, guilt and anxiety. However, when we take the Lord with us to those floors we receive healing even if it makes us uncomfortable we receive peace and closure in the end. I digested what he said as food for thought….
Friday
I have trouble remembering details but I can remember random advice from friends over years ago. She one time advised me to decorate my room because I will feel better. I remembered what she said this week and got some ferry lights at an unbelievably cheap price at Walmart as compared to Amazon. My walls were bare before so I'm still looking for some more wall art to make my room feel more homey. However, if I can't find anything I might make some myself. Anyway, I already feel more peace as I make my room look more livable .
Needless to say, the new lighting inspires me to take some new self portraits but I promised myself I will not edit anymore pictures until I take my photo editing class in September to compare notes from Skillshare.
Have you seen the news this week?
I naturally distance myself from watching too much news because it gives me anxiety but seeing the train wreck on Friday is terrifying. The people say Biden is doing a horrible job after he took troops from Afghanistan and the Taliban has taken over. So many women and children have lost their rights and Christians are being persecuted. What a horrible move by the office. #PrayforAfghanistan…
Here is a photo of the US flag at half mast in honor of the fallen soldiers that died this week saving people abroad in Afghanistan. Its been a difficult time for both countries after Biden ordered US troops out of Afghanistan. I pray for healing.
Family ties
This week I realized an influencer, who goes by SensilloconS, on Instagram has the same last name as mine and I became a private investigator on Facebook to find that we come from the same roots. There are many people with the surname Caro around the world-- in Mexico, Colombia, Spain and Portugal for example but my family's direct lineage from Rincón and Aguada, Puerto Rico goes to the Basque country on the border of Spain and France. I always wondered what they are like and I found one. I noticed we studied the same thing— journalism. And we both have a knack for the arts-- he does comedy, Nydia Caro is a famous singer from our family and I play the guitar for church and sing worship. It's in our blood! I'd like to message him one day to say hi. Maybe he wouldn't notice my message but I think that finding family online is so exciting. 🌴
